About Jeff
Jeff Hergott is a partner practising in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate commercial law. Jeff has experience representing issuers, investment dealers and other stakeholders in a wide variety of capital markets and M&A transactions. He regularly advises clients on both public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities.Jeff’s M&A experience includes advising clients in respect of public and private share and asset acquisitions, mergers, takeovers and joint ventures and also includes advising clients in connection with going-public transactions. Jeff also routinely works with start-up and growth companies through all segments of their life cycle from formation, through various rounds of financings and eventual exits via capital market transactions or private sales. Jeff takes a collaborative approach to working with entrepreneurs.Jeff represents a range of cannabis industry participants including licensed producers and applicants, retail participants and a range of ancillary service providers. Jeff has acted as lead counsel in a variety of transactions, including advising Tokyo Smoke with its early stage financings, through its public listing and ultimately its sale to Canopy Growth Corporation.Jeff is a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Students Committee.
