She completed her articles at Stikeman Elliott LLP, with a secondment at the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission. Joey also worked as a summer student at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s Legal Services Department, assisting with proceedings before the Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board.Joey earned her law degree from Queen’s University, graduating with the third-highest standing in her class. Throughout her time in law school, she received numerous awards, including the Queen’s Law Prize in Trial Advocacy, the Faskin Martineau Dumoulin LLP Prize in Public Law, and the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award. While in law school, Joey competed in the Laskin administrative law moot and volunteered as a caseworker at the Queen’s Legal Aid Clinic.
