About Julia
Julia E. Markley is a litigation partner in the Portland, Oregon office of Perkins Coie LLP. She has 14 years of legal experience in the federal and state courts. Her clients include companies in the construction, communications, technology, energy, mining, manufacturing, food, and retail industries. Julia's diverse litigation practice includes complex business, class action, intellectual property, franchise and employment disputes. She has also handled cases involving political and constitutional law issues. Julia has tried several cases and arbitrations to conclusion. She represents clients on appeal and has significant experience in the Ninth Circuit and Oregon appellate courts. Julia is a recognized leader in the legal community. She served as the founding president of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association in 2009 - 2010. Julia is a former board member of Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) and an active member of OWLS, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the Federal Bar Association of Oregon. She has advised U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, former Governor Ted Kulongoski, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon on judicial appointments. In 2013, she received OWLS’ Judge Mercedes Deiz Award for outstanding contributions to promoting minorities in the legal profession and the community.
