He is qualified as a Mediator by the Law Society of Saskatchewan. He was honoured with a Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2018.Nicholas has provided pro bono legal assistance through the Regina Free Legal Clinic since 2006. Nicholas has played an active role with the Regina Bar Association since 2004, serving as a Director and Vice-President and then two terms as President from 2006 – 2008. He is an instructor at the CPLED Bar course and a presenter at various legal education seminars. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan. In 2018 – 2019, Nicholas was President of the Canadian Bar Association – Saskatchewan Branch.
